Tokyo, June 9, 2005 (JCN) - Eisai (TSE: 4523) announced on June 6 that it has established a pharmaceuticals marketing subsidiary in Switzerland through its European operation subsidiary Eisai Europe.
Capitalized at 3 million swiss fran ($2.4 mil), Eisai Pharma AG will sell pharmaceuticals mainly in the neurology area. The company will also be responsible for submitting applications for anti-epileptic drugs Zonegran and Inovelon in Switzerland in the future.
The new foothold in Switzerland, where steady growth is anticipated in the pharmaceutical market, will serve as a node in the sales network Eisai is stepping up its drive to expand for its products in Europe.
