Tokyo, Nov 26, 2007 (Jiji Press) - Nestle Japan Ltd. said Monday it will raise the prices of all of its instant coffee products on Jan. 5, due to higher coffee bean prices. The hikes will average some 11 pct, said the unit of Swiss food giant Nestle SA. Also behind the move are rises in packaging materials prices and transportation costs reflecting surging crude oil prices, the Kobe-based company said. The hikes will be the first for all of the company's instant coffee products since June 1997. The price of a 250-gram jar of Nescafe Excella will be raised to 1,493 yen from the current 1,344 yen, while that of a 150-gram jar of Nescafe Gold Blend will be hiked to 1,284 yen from 1,144 yen.
