Tokyo, Sept 11, 2008 (Jiji Press) - Pioneer Corp. <6773>, which sells large-screen plasma display televisions in Japan, on Thursday unveiled its plans to launch liquid crystal display TVs in the market in as early as 2010. Last month, Pioneer started selling 32- and 37-inch LCD TVs in Europe. To expand sales areas, it will launch them in Asia and North America in the first half of 2009, the company said at a fair of its new products. Pioneer will sell mostly small and middle-sized LCD TVs in Japan to meet growing demand. It plans to sell high-grade models featuring its own video and audio technologies and LCD panels supplied by Sharp Corp. <6753>.
