NEC Pushes International Expansion of Device Management - JCN Newswire
NEC Pushes International Expansion of Device Management

Tokyo, Feb 12, 2009 - (JCN Newswire) - NEC Corporation announced today the international sales launch of its NC7000-DM device management software. NC7000-DM software is capable of providing telecommunications carriers throughout the world with a means to remotely control and update the embedded software of mobile devices, ensure data security and diagnose faulty device conditions.

As mobile phones and portable devices have become more popular, telecommunications carriers have become more focused on providing integrated and efficient device management systems. The introduction of NC7000-DM allows telecommunications carriers to effectively expand business by reducing costs related to both the analysis of mobile device performance and the update of embedded software. Furthermore, remote control functions potentially deliver greater safety features that include airplanes being able to automatically disable mobile phones during takeoff and landing procedures.

Solutions offered by NEC's NC7000-DM.

1. Remotely Manage Device Settings
Telecommunications carriers may remotely observe the condition of portable devices in order to quickly renew firmware, change settings etc., which may improve customer satisfaction and reduce the costs associated with call centers and operations.

2. Business Device Management
Businesses may easily manage mobile devices used by employees, which enables them to lock the functions of lost devices and/or delete sensitive information. Telecommunications carriers may also discover new revenue channels by providing business customers with enhanced security services

3. Information Gathering
Telecommunications carriers that are seeking to improve services may measure the quality of their networks and accordingly dedicate capital expenditures through the NC7000-DM. It enables businesses to observe the working environment of portable devices, gather information on network conditions, and reduce overall costs by making effective investments that improve network quality.

4. Marketing Activities
The NC7000-DM enables telecommunications carriers to accurately observe device activities and capitalize on this information in order to improve user services and promotional campaigns.

NEC will showcase the NC7000-DM at the Mobile World Congress 2009 (MWC 2009), held in Barcelona, Spain from February 16, 2009.
