NTT Com to Launch Global SaaS E-mail and Groupware Solution - JCN Newswire
NTT Com to Launch Global SaaS E-mail and Groupware Solution

Tokyo, Mar 17, 2009 - (JCN Newswire) - NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com) announced today that on April 1 it will launch Global Messaging, a service pack that allows multinational enterprise customers to outsource management and operation of their e-mail and groupware systems to a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform hosted by NTT Coms secure data center in Hong Kong.

The service pack will be provided under NTT Coms BizCITY model, which enables enterprise services to be provided on an SaaS basis for secure access from anyplace at anytime.

Global Messaging enables enterprises to integrate multiple mail servers within NTT Coms data center and then use the system for SaaS webmail. Groupware for scheduling, file management, facility booking, etc. also can be provided on a SaaS basis using Global Messaging. The service pack additionally includes network solutions for firewall and remote access via mobile handsets

Customers not only have great flexibility in designing messaging systems for secure, stable communication environments, they also can avoid the costs of installing and managing conventional, in-house mail and groupware systems by using Global Messaging. Moreover, server integration can strengthen corporate compliance with requirements such as the U.S. Sarbanes-Oxley Act, which mandates mail servers to be monitored uniformly.

The Groupware services Hosted Exchange and TeamWorks also are packaged with Global Messaging. Hosted Exchange is an integrated e-mail management groupware for customer-dedicated exchange servers built with Microsoft Exchange 2007. TeamWorks is a user-friendly, browser-based groupware for webmail, scheduling, file management and messaging functions. As a shared groupware, TeamWorks can be used almost instantly with minimal startup cost.

Global Messaging will be available initially in Mainland China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. Expansion into other regions is envisioned. Support will be provided in Japanese between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. on business days, and in English and Chinese on a 24/7 basis.

Global Messaging can be integrated with Virtual Office Hosting, a new service for hosting virtual office PC environments, which also is being announced today.
