Tokyo, Mar 26, 2009 - (JCN Newswire) - On April 1 this year, improved ANA lounges at Fukuoka and Sapporo Chitose airports will open their doors to ANA frequent flyers and Premium Class domestic customers, offering them an elegantly understated space that reflects the latest in Japanese design, in which to rest or work before their flight.
Bigger, improved lounges and dedicated security lanes
The made-over ANA Lounges will be located conveniently next to a new dedicated security lane in each airport, meaning that ANA frequent flyers and premium customers using ANAs innovative SKiP service can proceed to directly to their own security lane - by-passing check-in - and be in the lounge within moments of their arrival at the airport.
In Fukuoka the facility comes in addition to the lounge in the newly opened Terminal 3, and will occupy the site of the previous ANA Lounge in Terminal 2. With a combined total of 184 seats (102 in Terminal 2, 82 in Terminal 3), they will offer nearly 50% more seats than previously available. In Sapporo, the existing ANA lounge has been remodeled to better please ANA premium and frequent travellers and will offer 100 as opposed to 81 seats.
Premium Class passengers have been invited to use the ANA Lounges at Tokyo Haneda and Osaka Itami airports since April 1, 2008. Thanks to this expansion, around 60% of all customers flying in Premium Class will now be able to enjoy the lounges prior to catching their flights.
As ANA is a member of Star Alliance, the worlds premier airline grouping, Star Alliance Gold Members will also be invited to use the lounges.
Premium Class is ANAs premier domestic product, offering bigger, more comfortable seats with greater leg-room, as well as meals, drinks, hot towels and slippers. At present Premium Class is offered on 85 aircraft in ANAs fleet - 747-400s, 777s, 767-300s and 737-700/800s - on 75 routes up and down Japan.
Myvu Personal Media Viewer Trial
From April 1 to May 31, customers using ANA Lounges in Tokyo Haneda, Osaka Itami, Fukuoka and Sapporo Chitose will be able to enjoy video programmes in private and experience a big screen feeling using a Myvu personal media viewer, which is worn like eyewear. For the trial period, content will be limited to short programmes provided by Goomo, a Japanese internet-based visual media content provider, and a live concert by acclaimed Japanese violinist Taro Hakase.
In a further move to improve its customer experience, for this summer only, Myvu personal media viewers will be available in Premium Class so that customers can enjoy the same big screen experience while travelling the skies of Japan.
