Fujitsu Announces New IP-900 Economical MPEG-4 Encoder for Remote Applicaitons

Sunnyvale, CA, Apr 9, 2009 - (JCN Newswire) - Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc., a leading supplier of innovative computer products and video broadcast products, today announced IP-900, compact MPEG-4 AVC encoder for real-time IP transmission of high-definition and standard-definition content for news gathering and remote applications. The Fujitsu IP-900 reduces cost and improves efficiency while offering low latency and best-in-class picture quality at the lowest possible bit rates. Fujitsu will demonstrate IP-900 and other leading-edge video broadcast technologies at the NAB Show (Booth SU10921), April 20-23, 2009 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas.

"The Fujitsu IP-900 significantly improves operational capabilities in television newsgathering, corporate communications and other applications. This light-weight, transportable encoding solution offers superior picture quality, low latency and other performance enhancement," said Vic Herring, Senior Director, Video Solutions Group, Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc. "The Fujitsu IP-900 is well-positioned to emerge as the encoding solution of choice for transportable applications. The adoption of video transmission over IP continues to increase as broadcasters and other media outlets seeking leading-edge technologies to facilitate this transition without sacrificing performance."

The Fujitsu IP-900 combines best-in-class performance, low power consumption and compact size - the 1-RU, half-a-rack width - makes it the industry"s most complete, comprehensive encoding solution for a wide variety of remote applications. The IP-900 is cost efficient for mobile television newsgathering. Its versatility and high-performance capabilities enable television broadcasters to deploy the solution in unfavorable environments to ensure that the entire transmission is intact.
