Wind Power Company WinWinD Chooses Fujitsu's Patja - JCN Newswire
Wind Power Company WinWinD Chooses Fujitsu's Patja

Helsinki, June 10, 2009 - (JCN Newswire) - Wind power company WinWinD Oy and ICT services supplier Fujitsu Services Oy have entered into a three-year Patja services agreement whereby Fujitsu assumes overall responsibility for the IT availability and information security and support services of WinWindD. The agreement also covers end-to-end product services.

In the initial phase, Patja incorporates the company's 300 workstations and 20 servers located in Finland. Later, the service will possibly be expanded to other WinWinD's countries of operation.

WinWinD was originally founded in Oulu, Finland. The company has grown to be an important international player in a rapidly growing industry through producing energy with its wind turbines.

"We were looking for a strategic partner who could support our growth objectives by offering global ICT services. ICT is one of the main constituents when implementing expansion projects," says ICT Director Markku Korhonen of WinWinD.

"I have been keeping my eye on the Patja concept for a long time and what particularly convinced me about it was the maturity of its processes. This agreement is a positive step to us, bringing our business-critical ICT services to the next level," he says.

"WinWinD is an interesting and challenging customer in terms of its growth strategy. Patja fits them perfectly thanks to its scalability with growth," says Oulu regional director Jouni Pohjanoja.

Patja deployment is already in progress at WinWinD, and the service is scheduled to be fully up and running by the end of 2009.
