Fujitsu "Accelerates" Channel Program for Retail Industry Strategy Targets Retail Markets and Segments That Require Vendor Leadership

Sunnyvale, CA, July 15, 2009 - (JCN Newswire) - Fujitsu today announced it is expanding its Accelerator channel program to the retail industry. The program targets value-added resellers (VARs), independent software vendors (ISVs) and distributors that understand end-user requirements and have leadership positions, software and services that complement products and services from Fujitsu.

According to the company, this program will enable and accelerate the partner's revenue through a business relationship with Fujitsu. Four "Pillars of Success" underpin the program: Retail Expertise and Success, Pervasive Retailing Solutions, Service and Support and Sales Enablement Programs.

William Buie, senior vice president of channel, alliance and system integrator sales at Fujitsu America, says the company's strategy is on growing retail solution sales through focus on and support of the channel.

"Unlike some retail technology vendors, our goal is to fully support industry VARs, ISVs and distributors -- not compete against them," said Buie. "We have the right products with the right price, performance and service options to drive profitable partnerships with resellers. That's why we've launched the Fujitsu Accelerator program -- to drive increased awareness and sales growth with our channel partners."

The Fujitsu Accelerator Partner Program includes various sales and marketing support elements such as a channel partner Web site for direct and secure communications; financing for flexible customer options; market development funds and co-branded product collateral; new business lead generation and media and publicity support.

Jeremey Fass, executive vice president at AVF Consulting, says the new program will support growth initiatives of channel partners like his company.

"It's refreshing to see a large technology vendor like Fujitsu bring a true partnership approach to its retail channel program," said Fass. "As a new reseller of Fujitsu point-of-sale hardware, we are very pleased with the technical, sales and marketing support that Fujitsu offers. They are working with us to grow both our business and theirs, an essential trait in a quality technology partner."

Fujitsu products and services offered under the Accelerator program include the TeamPoS(R) 3000 and 3600 families of point-of-sale (POS) terminals, iPAD(TM) mobile systems, U-SCAN(R) self-checkout, U-SERV(R) self-service kiosks and the field service and customer support organization.
