Tokyo, Oct 13, 2009 - (JCN Newswire) - TOYOTA MOTOR CORPORATION (TMC) announces that, as part of its social contribution activities, it will hold its 29th Toyota Lobby Concert on December 10 in the first-floor lobby of its Tokyo Head Office in Koraku, Bunkyo Ward, Tokyo.
The concert will feature the Pacific Music Festival Chamber Players, musicians who have participated in the Pacific Music Festival, an international educational music festival co-sponsored by TMC. The musicians, a clarinet duo and a string quartet, will perform a Christmas medley, among other pieces.
The Toyota Lobby Concert, held since 1995, aims to provide people in nursing care facilities near the TMC Tokyo Head Office as well as nearby residents with an opportunity to enjoy a quality live musical performance. Volunteers from TMC, with the assistance of the local community, organize the concerts.
At the concert, members of the Toyota Volunteer Center will accept redeemable items, such as used stamps and telephone cards, donated by attendees. The proceeds gained from these donations are to be used to support the education of children in Thailand, Laos and other parts of the world, and to help provide medicine and improve living conditions in developing nations.
TMC will provide 400 complimentary tickets to residents of local nursing care facilities and the general public. Those wishing to receive tickets should apply in line with the instructions in the table below. Tickets will be sent to successful applicants by mail around December 3.
