| OMRON Software to Commercialize Low-Cost Face Recognition Security System |
|
|
|
Tokyo, Mar 5, 2004 (JCN) - FaceWalker, due out April 1, is OMRON's (TSE: 6645) latest face recognition security system. Ideally suited for use at nursing home and school facilities, the system securely controls the entry and exit of registered users based on their facial images.
The system features "walk-through" recognition to authorize entries without having to require users to stop in front of a security camera, supporting smooth and easy access control to facilities.
The minimum-configuration system, which includes cameras and a PC, is priced at 5,000,000 yen ($45,455).
