| NEC Soft to Sell BioGrid Solution |
|

|
Tokyo, Apr 23, 2004 (JCN) - NEC Soft (TSE: 4774) will begin marketing June 30 BioCollabo, a BioGrid solution which allows bioinformatics applications to be used on a grid computing platform.
The bioinformatics solution provides low cost arithmetic processing capability for genetic and protein research. The product comes with database search and analysis tools. The minimum-configuration system (1 to 16 nodes) costs 2,980,000 yen ($27,339).
The company expects to sell 50 sets and generate sales of 600 million yen ($5.5 mil) over the next three years.
NEC Soft will demonstrate BioCollabo at the Grid World Expo 2004 at Tokyo Fashion Town on April 27 and 28.
