Sony to Release 160GB Digital Hard Drive Recording Device

Tokyo, Aug 23, 2004 (JCN) - Set to hit the market October 1, the Digital Recording Hard Disk Drive VRP-T5 is the latest 160GB hard drive video recording device from Sony (TSE: 6758).

The product, which links to Sony's digital TVs and TV tuners via the i.LINK interface, enables users to record up to 17 hours of high-definition digital terrestrial broadcasting, or 42 hours of lower quality standard digital broadcasting.

The compact 2.5kg unit measures 171x58x305mm, and is priced at 73,500 yen ($674).
