| Trans Genic Applies for Patent for Urinary-based Cancer Diagnostic Technology |

Tokyo, Jan 28, 2005 (JCN) - Trans Genic has announced that it has applied for a patent for its proprietary cancer diagnostic technology currently under development.
With the aid of Kogakuin University and Kyushu University, the company has developed an innovative technology that measures diacetyl spermine in urine to detect cancer. In order to improve this technology, the company has developed a highly-sensitive and unique measuring method. Specifically, the company has created a monoclonal antibody with high affinity for diacetyl spermine.
It is expected that this patent-pending discovery will enable highly accurate stable and homogeneous measurement. Trans Genic plans to develop clinical diagnostic products in collaboration with several pharmaceuticals.
