Tokyo, Feb 15, 2005 (JCN) - Okamoto Industries has announced that it has stroke a basic agreement with the major shareholders of Ichijiku Pharmaceutical for a corporate merger scheduled in March.
Specifically, Okamoto will acquire 67% of the outstanding shares in Ichijiku by early March, making Ichijiku its subsidiary. Through this merger, Okamoto aims to expand its line of business, strengthen its product development capability and improve its management efficiency.
Established in 1934, Ichijiku is famous for its well-received enema product.
