Tokyo, Apr 8, 2005 (JCN) - Hisamitsu Pharmaceutical and Nippon Shinyaku (TSE: 4516) announced on April 7 that they have entered into a joint development agreement for HFT-290, a drug candidate for the treatment of cancer pain.
The two companies will conduct Phase III clinicalt trials, and co-promote the new product in Japan.
HFT-290 is a fentanyl citrate plaster developed based on Hisamitsu's proprietary technology, Transdermal Drug Delivery System. With a once-a-day dosage, the drug can achieve stable pain control.
