| Novartis Pharma, Asahi Kasei Pharma to Collaborate in Promoting Anti-inflammatory Drug Voltaren |

Tokyo, Apr 19, 2005 (JCN) - On April 18, Novartis Pharma K.K. and Asahi Kasei Pharma jointly announced that they have agreed to collaborate in promoting Voltaren, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory agent.
Specifically, the two companies will begin co-promoting four preparations of Voltaren: Voltaren Tablet, Voltaren Suppo, Voltaren SR Capsule, and Voltaren Gel.
As for Voltaren Tape, they will continue discussions on possible co-promotion.
Initially launched in 1974, Voltaren is currently sold in 140 countries worldwide.
