Tokyo, Apr 27, 2005 (JCN) - NEC announced on April 25 that it has developed and begun shipping BioPrism, a comprehensive support system for proteomic analysis. The BioPrism system, which simultaneously displays multiple analytical data and information stored in public databases on PCs, helps researchers comprehensively examine data.
Further, the system can compile a database of samples used in analysis so that samples and data can be securely managed.
Retail prices range from 3 million yen ($28,000) for the compact model to 5 million yen ($46,700) for the professional model. Targeting national public institutions and pharmaceutical companies engaged in proteomic analysis, NEC expects to sell 100 units over the next three years.
