Thirteenth Annual TELL Charity Walk & Runathon Set for May 5
NPO TELL calls for participants, to support its promotion of mental health in Japan

Tokyo, Apr 20, 2012 - (JCN Newswire) - On Saturday May 5, Tokyo English Life Line (TELL) once again unites the community to promote mental health in Japan, through its Thirteenth Annual TELL Charity Walk & Runathon. The event takes place around Tokyo's Imperial Palace and all proceeds go to ensure that TELL, an accredited not-for-profit organization (NPO), can carry on providing confidential support and western-style counseling to the international and Japanese community - continuing in its nearly four decade legacy.

The TELL Charity Walk & Runathon incorporates a 10 km run, 5 km run, and a 5 km walk. Prizes are awarded to the fastest runners for the 10 km and 5 km runs, and the first eight hundred participants to arrive on the day receive a TELL Charity Walk & Runathon T-shirt, provided by Reebok. In addition, the event features entertainment and refreshments throughout.

Participants can pre-register at or by calling 03-4550-1191 before April 25 for 3500 yen, or register at the start line from 9:00 am on the day for 4500 yen. The walk/runs begin at 10:15 am from Chidorigafuchi Park, next to the Hanzomon Gate at Tokyo's Imperial Palace (nearest station Hanzomon exit 3). The event finishes at midday, and proceeds rain or shine.

Chairman of the TELL Board Tsuyoshi Akiyama said, "TELL has experienced tremendous growth over the past nearly four decades. However, our core mission remains the same: to be there, to listen, to care, and to help find solutions to the problems that bring people to us. Our TELL Charity Walk & Runathon is integral to our ability to continue to provide this important support. Averaging over one thousand participants and spectators each year, we very much appreciate the participation of those who come out and run and walk with us."
