Tokyo, Oct 3, 2005 (JCN) - Dainippon Sumitomo Pharma, a merged company of Dainippon Pharmaceutical and Sumitomo Pharmaceuticals, has launched its full-scale operations on October 1. The new company, which is headquartered in Osaka, has a capital of 22.4 billion yen and 5,150 employees on a non-consolidated base.
In a medium- and long-perspective, it aims to consolidate its presence in the field of diabetes and central nervous system disorders. The new company is the fifth-largest pharmaceutical company in Japan.
