Tokyo, Nov 11, 2005 (JCN) - Seikagaku has identified several drug compound candidates that target sugar chain enzymes, in collaboration with its research partner Discovery Partners International (DPI).
By using Seikagaku's proprietary assay method and DPI's exclusive screening system, the two companies have discovered the compound candidates that inhibit the activity of glycosylation enzymes.
Seikagaku will proceed with research with a view to developing oral medication using the newly-discovered compounds. Any rights, including patents and development rights, regarding the compounds are vested in Seikagaku.
