Tokyo, Nov 14, 2005 (JCN) - Seikagaku has undertaken a plan to expand its production capacity of its Takahagi plant in Ibaraki Prefecture. Specifically, the company will construct a new drug production facility as the plant's fourth production facility.
Construction will begin in October 2006, and the facility will be ready for operation by January 2009.
In addition, Seikagaku plans to expand the plant's third facility as well as its administration and welfare office building.
Plans call for investing 6.7 billion yen ($57 mil) in facility expansion. With the move, the company aims to meet an increasing demand for ARTZ Dispo, its propriety hyaluronic acid-based drug for improving joint functions.
