'Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns of the Patriots' Named Game of the Year at Japan Game Awards 2009
Tokyo, Sept 25, 2009 (JCN) - KONAMI's METAL GEAR SOLID 4 GUNS OF THE PATRIOTS (MGS4) received the Grand Award in the Games of the Year Division at the Japan Game Awards 2009. Awards are given to game software titles selected from among all titles released in Japan between April 1, 2008 and March 31, 2009 at a special awards ceremony.
The Japan Game Awards, a video game industry tradition since 1996, is sponsored by the Computer Entertainment Suppliers Association (CESA) with an eye to fostering the field of computer entertainment software as both an art form and industry.
MGS4, an action game with its underlying anti-war and anti-nuclear arms message, was released to the global market on June 12th, 2008. The METAL GEAR series has sold over 27 million copies worldwide as of June 30, 2009.
