AGC Sets Up China Subsidiary
 

Tokyo, Dec 28, 2010 (JCN) - Asahi Glass Co. Ltd (AGC) has further strengthened its foothold in the Chinese market by establishing AGC (China) Holdings Co. Ltd. AGC (China) Holdings will focus on activities beyond the framework of individual business unit. Specifically, the role of the company includes information gathering on economic and industrial policies of the Chinese government, supporting business activities of the business units in the country, and developing new business/participating in new business projects.

Early this year, the company has set up a production base for TFT-LCD glass substrates. At present, AGC operates 11 consolidated subsidiaries in China, with a total workforce of about 5,000 employees.
