Tokyo, May 9, 2011 (JCN) - Yokogawa Electric subsidiary Yokogawa Electric Korea has won an order from Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction to supply the control systems for a supercritical pressure coal-fired power plant that is being built in Raipur, central India for GMR Chhattisgarh Energy Pvt Ltd., a major Indian electric power company.
The Raipur supercritical pressure coal-fired power plant will have a total output of 1370 MW (two 685 MW units), and the first unit is scheduled to start operation in July 2013.
Yokogawa will provide the CENTUM VP series integrated production control system for the power plant's boilers, turbines, and auxiliary facilities; the ProSafe-RS safety instrumented system for detecting abnormal conditions and safely initiating emergency shutdowns; the PRM integrated device management software package for monitoring and online diagnosis of plant equipment; the Exaquantum plant information management system; and engineering and installation services.
In addition, Yokogawa will supply a plant operation training simulator that is being used in many plants, including the Yonghung power plant in South Korea.
This Indian control system order from a Korean plant construction company follows last year's order for the Marafiq thermal power plant in Saudi Arabia.
