Tokyo, Nov 14, 2011 (JCN) - NTN Corp. has developed a space-saving two-way feeder system that is capable of reliably aligning and supplying randomly entwined coil springs. The "Monodrive Two-way Feeder with the Separation Mechanism for Tangled Springs" features a newly developed compact spring separator integrated with the space-saving Monodrive Two-way Feeder (MD2 Feeder) and is designed for transporting small bore coil springs (with diameters of 2mm to 5mm).
Devices used to automatically transport randomly entwined coil springs generally consist of a parts feeders for aligning and supplying springs and an independent spring separator for separating randomly entwined coil springs. One of the problems in such systems is the space required in system installation.
NTN's integrated monodrive two-way feeder system addresses this issue by requiring only half the space need when installing bowl-type parts feeder and an independent spring separator, resulting in a significant space savings. The company aims to expand its feeder systems into a series capable of handling a wide range of spring sizes.
