Tokyo, Dec 27, 2011 (JCN) - NTN Corp.'s ULTAGE Deep Groove Ball Bearings are suitable for equipment used in ultra-high-temperature environments up to 400-degC. The ball bearings employ a solid lubricant designed with a special composition in place of fluorine grease. The bearing also features improvements made to the internal design to increase the amount of lubricant and optimize the shape of the bearings, effectively doubling the operating life.
The ULTAGE Deep Groove Ball Bearings have a positioning ring installed between the shield and solid lubricant to help feed lubricant in the direction of rotation to ensure the ideal contact conditions between the rolling element (balls) and lubricant, resulting in smoother rotation. In addition to providing a reliable supply of lubricant to the raceway surface of the bearing, the design reduces rotational torque to approximately 1/4. The inclusion of a metallic cover over the solid lubricant helps prevent the inner and outer rings from separating even if the solid lubricant becomes extremely worn.
