JGC Lands EPC Contract for Jazan Refinery in Saudi Arabia
Yokohama, Japan, Nov 28, 2012 (JCN) - JGC Corporation and its Saudi subsidiary JGC Arabia Ltd. will be providing engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services to Saudi Aramco regarding the building of the Jazan Refinery and Terminal.
Jazan Refinery and Terminal will have a 400,000-barrel daily capacity to process crude oils and produce gasoline, ultra low sulfur diesel and aromatics. JGC will be taking charge of the EPC work for the Naphtha and Aromatics Complex, which is scheduled for completion in 2016.
The development of the Jazan Economic City is part of Saudi Arabia's national policy to diversify its industry and workforce. The Jazan Economic City comprises 108 square kilometers, with plans for sequential development of infrastructure including power plants, desalination plants, a seaport, and a residential district, and invitations to heavy industries as well as manufacturing industries including electronics, pharmaceuticals, processed foods and others.
