Tokyo, Jan 22, 2013 (JCN) - Mitsui Chemicals, Inc. has signed a licensing agreement for acrylamide (AAM) manufacturing technology, the raw material for poly-acrylamide which is used in wastewater treatment and shale gas mining recovery processes, with Finland's Kemira OYJ.
Kemira is a global over two billion euro water chemistry company that is focused on serving customers in water-intensive industries. The company offers water quality and quantity management that improves customers' energy, water, and raw material efficiency.
Mitsui Chemicals AAM manufacturing technology by using bio-catalysts was highly evaluated for its stability in producing high-quality products, when compared with existing copper catalyst chemical processes, and its low burden on the environment.
Mitsui Chemicals, Inc., positions its AAM business as one of "Five Priority Businesses" in its 2011 Mid-term Business Plan (FY2011-FY-2013), and continues to target expansion of its global AAM licensing operations for which demand is expected to grow worldwide.
