Azbil Corporation to Establish North American Subsidiary for Technological Development

Tokyo, Jan 31, 2014 (JCN) - Tokyo based Azbil Corporation has announced that it will establish Azbil North America Research & Development, Inc. as an overseas base for technological development on February 1.

Guided by its philosophy of "human-centered automation," the azbil Group has been developing its three core businesses (Building Automation, Advanced Automation, and Life Automation) inside and outside of Japan.

To respond to the needs of customers who operate worldwide, and to provide advanced technology and novel products rapidly, it is necessary to approach technological development by gaining a global perspective on innovative technology and innovation in the market. The establishment of the new company is a component of this strategy.

The aim of establishing a base in the U.S. is to strengthen our basic technology by collaborating with American research institutes and universities, to develop products by applying advanced technology, and to accelerate our response to international standards and technological developments.

The new company will be located in Silicon Valley, Santa Clara County, California, and as an independent subsidiary it will be responsible for overseas technological development in the Azbil Group.

The plan for the near future is to find solutions required for the realization of flexible measurement and control technology in wide production areas or residential areas, without limitations of time or place, by utilizing American research and development resources.
