Tokyo, July 23, 2012 - (JCN Newswire) - More people in Japan are embracing mid-career job change, backed by resilient demand for skilled professionals. However, even the top talent faces competition, and should prepare for a long recruitment process, says Hays Specialist Recruitment Japan KK ("Hays").
In its Quarterly Report for July to September, Hays points to an increasing number of people looking for a job change and notes that although there are opportunities out there, job seekers must move quickly.
"Demand for multilingual candidates is strong and resilient, in reflection of the increasingly global business environment. However, some roles are also highly sought after - particularly in banking and finance, where a large number of candidates vie for the same position," says Japan-based Hays Operations Director, Asia, Christine Wright.
"Candidates need to be prepared to apply as soon as a vacancy opens, and to expect a long process, involving several stages - it can take time for hiring managers to gain all the necessary approvals to start interviewing.
"In addition, there is often little salary change in moving from one permanent role to another, and candidates must consider all of the benefits and be realistic," Christine adds.
