MHI Selected as One of the World's Most Sustainable Corporations

Tokyo, Jan 23, 2014 - (JCN Newswire) - Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) has been selected by Corporate Knights Inc. among this year's "Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World," commonly referred to as "the Global 100." Corporate Knights is a media and investment research company based in Toronto, Canada. MHI has been selected as a "Global 100" company for six times, including this year.

MHI was included on the 2014 "Global 100" list in recognition especially of its outstanding quartile performance ratings compared to its industry peers with respect to greenhouse gas (GHG) productivity, waste productivity, employee turnover and innovation capacity.

Since 2005, Corporate Knights has announced its Global 100 rankings once yearly to coincide with the Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. It compiles its rankings based on independent analysis of the sustainability of global corporations in aspects including the environment, social responsibility and governance. This year, Corporate Knights conducted its performance analysis on a target group of approximately 4,000 enterprises.
